hobson's choice is Michael Davidson on vibraphone, Rebecca Hennessy on trumpet, Felicity Williams on voice, and Harley Card on voice and acoustic guitar. The group's music falls somewhere between jazz, instrumental chamber music, and singer-songwriter. All four members are active in Toronto’s diverse music scenes, and have earned University degrees in jazz performance. Both Michael and Felicity attended York University, and Rebecca and Harley graduated from the University of Toronto.
Michael Davidson (vibraphone), also a member of Elvis Bossa Nova, and Stoptime, has played with Barry Elmes, Kelly Jefferson, Sophie Milman, Jill Barber, and Elizabeth Shepherd. Felicity Williams (voice) sings with Bahamas and Alex Lukashevsky (Deep Dark United), and has performed with many bands including Snowblink, John Southworth, Ben Gunning, Broken Social Scene, and Bernice. Rebecca Hennessy (trumpet) is also a member of The Woodshed Orchestra and Drumhand, and has played with Ron Sexsmith and Broken Social Scene. She performs annually with the Toronto Women’s Blues Revue. Harley Card (guitar and voice), also a member of Stoptime, and God's Gift To Yoda, has played with Richard Underhill, Alex Dean, William Carn, Michael Herring, and David Virelles.
