Founded by producer, musician Jean Martin in 2002, Barnyard Records has to date issued more than 40 albums spanning many idioms. After releasing the first Barnyard Release The Jean Martin Trio at the Farm , (January 2003) Jean quickly realized the need for the label in this country and it's importance to expand internationally. The labels idea is to release quality recordings, on all levels – from musicianship, production and engineering to cover art. It is the concept for many projects to bring forth talents that our unique and creative from any source of inspiration.
Barnyard Records produces music by some of Canada's finest musicians and their collaborators from elsewhere in the US and abroad who work creatively within and across numerous musical styles. This year, our 10th anniversary, we will be releasing 10 new Albums (to date) including:
