Ottawa-born Frank Lozano started his musical studies at Toronto's Humber College under the wing of Pat LaBarbera. After touring Czechoslovakia with Sound Image Theater, in 1990, the saxman settled in Montréal, where he joined drummer Bernard Primeau's ensemble.
A popular player, Lozano went on to collaborate with a host of top tier musicians, from Tito Puente to Oliver Jones or Karen Young, and played with a variety of bands, from Tom Gossage's Other Voice to the Effendi Jazzlab. In 2007, the musician recorded his first CD as leader of the FrankLozanoGroup. The material for Colour Fields was conceived in New York, after Lozano had landed the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec's Soho studio residence grant. In 2010-2011, he collaborated with François Bourassa on a string of concerts paying tribute to Bill Evans. Credited to the Frank Lozano Montreal Four, Destin came out in early 2012.
